6 July, Thursday
Today we walked around Budapest. It's a nice city with good prices - slightly cheaper than the US (59 Forint - less than 60 cents for a McDonald's hamburger). Parliament building is really impressive. Last night went to an Irish bar. It was a pretty nice place. Beer was a little more expensive (295 Forint - about $2.46). Together Brian & I spent about $20.
We're sleeping in a dorm room in the hostle. Cost: about $9/night. I'll charge 3 nights for me and the last 2 for Brian.
If I drank less beer my gut would go away.
All of us met and went to the bar with Karen, a guy from London. He's 27. Tomorrow: visit some spas & see some more of Budapest. We're staying 2 more nights, then Austria.
Right now Matt, Brad, J & Ted are having a drink on a riverboat restaurant. Brian, Rob & I are sitting on the edge of the river just hanging out, eating pineapple, and talking about the Hungarian spas. Rob's reading about them. Sounds like they're therapeutic if you have on of the problems he's listing. There's a lot of pretty girls in Budabest - even though they don't all shave.
7 July, Friday
Today we're on the "Budda" side of Budapest. Right now I'm at a Hotel with indoor/outdoor pools, spas, etc. The outdoor pool is a wave pool. It's a beautiful day & I wouldn't mind just sitting here the rest of it.
Last night was fun. Ate & drank cheap (pizza & 4 beers for $6). Then went out to a few more bars. Met a bunch of Hungarian physicians who were serving in the military (it's required). Went back to the Irish pub (Brad, Rob, Karen, and I), and Karen & I met 2 Greek girls (Brad & Rob went home - even though Rob thought he went home with me because he was drunk). They were really friendly & we had a good time. Walked them part way home.
I can't say I mind all the girls at the pool today with their tops off.
