2 July, Sunday
On a train to Munich with Brad & Rob. Met 3 girls: Ericka (from Virginia), Kathy & Lisa (from New Jersey). All 3 go to school in Pennsylvania. They are also traveling to Munich. Yesterday we (all of us) stayed over at the other hostle in Interlaken. Made & ate a big spagetti dinner with 4 girls we met at the hostle: Katie, Carla, Cat, and Alex. Had a great time with them. Played ultimate Frisbee with Katie & Carla, then went swimming in the lake (& showered there too). Later played Yuker. Last night Carla & I got locked out of the hostle so we slept at the lake. It was a little chilly & wet from the storm earlier, but we had a good time. At least it was interesting. A raccoon came to visit and scare the crap out of us, then it ran away.
Brian, J, and Matt went to Italy and Ted is staying in Bern until he gets a new passport & travelers checks. We'll meet Tues at 6pm on track 1 in Bern.

Tuesday: Visit King Ludwig's castle (Schloss Nueschwanstein - castle Disneyworld is modeled after)

Head to Budapest (hopefully)
I hope Ted enjoys the time he has to himself.
In Munich (just got here) Great location (Hotel Kronprinz) but pricey (cost 36 DM/night including breakfast) Not that bad considering we can walk from the train station, it's right in the old city, near beer gardens (& English Garden), Glockenspeil (clock), the three of us have our own room, and it LOCKS (we won't end up like Ted). Rooms are nice & big, marble bathroom… We're grabbing something to and with Lisa, Erica & Cathy, then we hit the beer garden for a while. Oh yea, no curfew - I won't get locked out tonight!
It's nice to have a smaller group for awhile.
3 July, Monday
Had a great time last night. Ate Turkish pizza, then headed to the Hofbrauhaus. Liter beers: 10 DM. Live German music - it was a great band. Closed at midnight, then we went to an Irish bar. Drank Guiness. Listened to Pulp Fiction soundtrack. Took another glass (.5 Liter Guiness)
Staying another night at Kronprinz hotel. Pretty much everything's closed on Monday, so tomorrow we'll see Dachau & King Ludwig's castle. Saw the Glockenspeil last night, but didn't see it move. Today we'll visit the German Science & Technology museum (Deutsches??) - the largest science & technology museum in the world.
