Had a wonderful time in London. Stayed with Tim, a graduate from Marquette. Cost: $15 - pretty sweet deal. Picadilly Circus was great. Leister Square Park was nice to just sit, watch people, and relax. Bars closed at 11pm. The people were friendly. Had a great time talking to the locals. Tim's friends: Anne, Marie, Emma, Peter, Steve & Mike? Tim had a great little place in Hampstead, on the edge of London. Nice part of town. Drank at Spaniards - a 500 year old pub. John Keats used to drink there with other now famous poets. Sting lives up the street. The subway ("Tube") made getting around very convenient.
Visited: Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Winsor Castle, Wimbelton, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral (from a distance)
Today between classes I stopped at a pub to have a beer and write post cards. Saturday we leave for Ireland. Leaving my luggage at IBIS Hotel - for free!
Great Belgian beers: DeKonnick (Antwerp), Hoegaarden, Trapist Triple (11% alcohol! Brewed by monks!)
